Extruders
The extruder is designed for installation in a wet pet food line and is placed above the belt of the steam tunnel. The unit forms strands or wide strips ready to be cooked in a continuous process.
The temperature of the emulsion must be at least + 5°C during extrusion. The emulsion is pumped to the extruder by the mono pump of the hopper. The pump creates a slight overpressure in the extruder. This overpressure moves the emulsion toward the die. The die plate then produces the required "strand" dimensions. The die plate of the extruder unit is easily replaced by a quick-change system.
The final consistency and shape of the product depends mainly on the specifications of the emulsion.
